Create a new host in dns

So I ended up creating a new subdomain in cPanel (subdomain.mydomain.com) set to use the same root folder as mydomain.com

I then altered the config.php file "live site" setting from 'mydomain.com' to 'subdomain.mydomain.com'

I can now access my joomla site by going to subdomain.mydomain.com, and everything works fine, except no images show. Menus all work, login functionality works, but none of the images display.

Any ideas on how to get them back? If I view from the mydomain.com, the images show up.
